Campus Begins Homecoming Celebration
Events will take place all week leading up to the football game against the University of Virginia on Nov. 1.

Fall brings one of Tech’s most celebrated seasons: Homecoming.
Starting with a concert on Thursday, Oct. 23, the campus will celebrate Homecoming through a multitude of activities, leading up to the Tech vs. Virginia football game on Nov. 1 at 3:30 p.m.
Whether you’re a student, faculty/staff member, or an alumnus, you’re sure to find traditions and events to engage you, your family and friends.
Friday, Oct. 24
- Homecoming Step Show
Time: 7 – 10 p.m.
Location: Ferst Center for the Arts
What: Unifying the Georgia Tech community through the National Pan-Hellenic Council, the Homecoming Step Show is a way for fraternities and sororities to showcase their hard work.
Saturday, Oct. 25
- Soiree Under the AtlanTech
Time: 7.30 p.m. – Midnight
Location: Peachtree Room, Student Center
What: Students can enjoy this Under the Sea-themed event with a live DJ and snacks.
Sunday, Oct. 26
- Iron Buzz
Time: 8 – 11 a.m.
Location: Check-in at the CRC. Routes for the running and biking portions of the race will be posted on the Iron Buzz Routes document.
What: A timed triathlon event in which student teams will compete in a 200m freestyle swim, bike race around campus, and mile run.
Tuesday, Oct. 28
- Alumni Letter Writing
Time: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Location: Tech Walkway
What: While writing a letter of appreciation, students share their favorite Tech traditions and the reasons why they LOVE Georgia Tech.
- Conversation with President Peterson
Time: 11 a.m. – Noon
Location: Clough Commons 152
What: A one-hour question and answer session between the students of Georgia Tech and President Peterson. - Talent Show
Time: 7:30 – 9 p.m.
Location: Ferst Center for the Arts
What: Enjoy the many unique talents of Georgia Tech students.
Wednesday, Oct. 29
- CanStruction
Time: 9 a.m. – Noon
Location: Around Tech Green
What: Watch students build the tallest freestanding can-made structure! Cans will be donated at the end of the event. - Mock Rock
Time: 7 – 10 p.m.
Location: Ferst Center for the Arts
What: Watch different organizations at Tech perform an original act in relation to the Homecoming theme.
Thursday, Oct. 30
- Alumni Association Keynote Presentation
Time: 6 – 7 p.m.
Location: Georgia Tech Global Learning Center, Room 236
What: Join Paul Brown (Mgt 89), chief executive officer of Arby’s Restaurant Group and former president of Brands and Commercial Services for Hilton Worldwide, and Michelle Jarrard (IE 89), director of McKinsey & Company, as they celebrate their 25th class reunion with an interactive and informal presentation to reflect on how their commonalities — discovered as Tech co-op students sharing a job — underscore their success in spite of their very different executive roles.

- Night Traditions Tours
Time: 8 – 9 p.m.
Location: Meet at the SAA table on Tech Walkway
What: Find out more about Georgia Tech on this spooky night tour around campus.
Friday, Oct. 31
- Archives Open House
Time: 1 – 3 p.m.
Location: Archives (Library Annex, next to Hinman Building)
What: Stop by the Archives for a presentation of historical materials about Georgia Tech football, along with other rare items in their collection.
- Campus Tours
Time: 3 – 4 p.m.
Location: Georgia Tech Global Learning Center Atrium
What: Join ambassadors and staff from the Office of Capital Space Planning & Management for a unique one-mile walking or bus tour around campus. - Campus Master Plan
Time: 2:15 – 3 p.m.
Location: Georgia Tech Global Learning Center Room 222
What: Join Howard Wertheimer, director of Capital Planning & Space Management, as he talks about how Tech’s campus grew to where it is today and what the future has in store. - Mini 500
Time: 5 – 8 p.m.

What: Don’t miss the Legendary Mini 500 Tricycle Race, with Buzz leading the first lap.
Saturday, Nov. 1
- Freshman Cake Race
Time: 6.30 a.m.
Location: Front of McCamish Pavilion
What: All freshmen are invited to participate in the Freshman Cake Race. Winners for the male and female races will get to meet Mr. and Mrs. Georgia Tech on the field at halftime during the Homecoming game. - Ramblin' Wreck Parade
Time: TBA
Location: The route will start at the corner of Fowler and Eighth streets and continue down Fowler to the corner of Fowler and Fourth.
What: Watch the different fixed body cars and wrecks that were made this year. - Mr. and Ms. Georgia Tech
Time: Half-Time of the Game
Location: Bobby Dodd Stadium
What: Mr. and Ms. Georgia Tech will be announced during halftime. - Ramblin’ Wreck Rally Tailgate
Time: 2.5 hours before kick-off
Location: Tech Tower Lawn
What: White and gold never grow old at the 2014 Ramblin’ Wreck Rally Tailgate. ADMISSION IS FREE, so drop by any time before the game and enjoy the best pre-game party around.
