Dating sites promise success finding the perfect match, but who knows you better than your friends?

Created at Georgia Tech, Couplet is an online matchmaking site that enables Facebook users (instead of an impersonal algorithm) to play Cupid. Through Couplet, anyone on Facebook can match two of their friends they think might hit it off.

They connect the potential lovebirds using Couplet, where they buy each of their friends a $5 Starbucks gift card, and Couplet does the rest of the matchmaking magic.

Couplet comes from Georgia Tech’s comp.social lab led by Eric Gilbert, an assistant professor in the School of Interactive Computing. The lab focuses on the design and analysis of social media.
