Update on Leadership Searches

Search committees engaged in searches for four institutional leadership positions

Georgia Tech is engaged in searches to fill several positions on the Institute’s senior leadership team. A brief update on each of those searches and anticipated timeline is as follows:


Vice president, Ethics, Compliance, and Legal Affairs

  • Committee’s actions to date: Reviewed applications, performed preliminary interviews, narrowed candidate field to finalists, completed on-campus interviews with finalists, and provided feedback to the president.
  • Next stage in the process: President Peterson will offer the position and make an announcement to campus.
  • Current projections for naming an incumbent: Feb. 2019


Vice president, Institute Communications

  • Committee’s actions to date: Reviewed applications, narrowed candidate pool, performed preliminary interviews, and narrowed the candidate pool to finalists.
  • Next stage in the process: Campus visits by finalists.
  • Current projections for naming an incumbent: March 2019


Executive vice president, Administration and Finance

  • Committee’s actions to date: Reviewed and approved job description, reviewed applications, and narrowed candidate pool to preliminary interviews.
  • Next stage in the process: Conducting preliminary interviews and selecting finalists.
  • Current projections for naming an incumbent: Apr. 2019


Senior vice president and director, Georgia Tech Research Institute

  • Committee’s actions to date: Reviewed and approved job description, which is currently posted. Search chair Steve McLaughlin held a town hall with GTRI staff on Jan. 15.
  • Next stage in the process: Committee to begin reviewing applicants.
  • Current projections for naming an incumbent: May 2019
