Women from Georgia Tech and beyond will gather on campus on Nov. 7 for a day of networking, leadership development, and celebration at the annual Women’s Leadership Conference.

This year’s event, focused on the call to action to “Be Bold,” will give attendees the chance to network, hear from guest speakers, and honor leaders in the community. The day will include breakfast, keynote sessions, workshops, lunch, a networking fair, live entertainment, and an awards ceremony. This year’s keynote speakers are Parisa Khosravi, an award-winning former CNN journalist, and Deb Sudbury, who leads the Labor & Employment Practice at Jones Day’s Atlanta office.

Each year, through its Women of Distinction Awards, the conference honors five women in the Georgia Tech community for their outstanding work during the past year. Honorees can be undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, staff, or alumnae. Nominations for the award are now open and can be submitted online here.

Started in 1998 by the Women’s Resource Center, the conference is held with the goal of inspiring and preparing women in the Tech community to become equal partners in leadership in their networks, professions, and society. The number of female students at Georgia Tech continues to grow, with this year’s freshman class being more than 40 percent women for the first time in Tech history.

The conference is also looking for volunteers from the Tech community to help host the event. The registration price will be discounted for volunteers. Those interested should contact Orezime Uyeh at oreuyeh@gatech.edu

The 2015 Women’s Leadership Conference will take place Nov. 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Student Center.
