On Jan. 25, Georgia Tech President G.P. "Bud" Peterson appeared before a subcommittee of the state’s House Appropriations Committee. He was invited to speak to the legislators on the topic of due process and how it is applied in student judiciary proceedings at Tech and within the University System of Georgia.
Previously, Peterson chaired the USG task force on Campus Safety and Security, looking specifically at campus law enforcement, Title IX, and sexual assault policies on college campuses in the state of Georgia. The task force issued its report in May 2015.
"Georgia Tech is committed to maintaining a learning environment that is safe, and affirms the dignity, respect, and values of our campus community," Peterson said. "We expect every member of our community, to practice the highest ethical principles and standards of conduct."
