Strategic Plan Initiative Progresses – Survey Closes Jan. 17

The visioning phase of Georgia Tech’s strategic planning process will come to a close this month, with the online survey closing at midnight on January 17.

The visioning phase of Georgia Tech’s strategic planning process will come to a close this month, with the online survey closing at midnight on January 17. Over the past few months, several thousand in-person and online interactions have been hosted with internal and external stakeholders. Next month, the process will enter the second phase, which will establish goals for strategic themes identified during the visioning sessions.

Throughout the visioning process, faculty, staff, and students provided input through in-person sessions, informal and formal meetings, webinars, and via the survey — totaling more than 5,500 interactions to date. Input sessions are also being held through the end of the month for alumni, parents, educators, partners, and business and community leaders, among others.

The strategic plan steering committee has been working in tandem with the visioning and collection process to analyze volumes of raw data and provide the building blocks for the Institute’s new mission, vision, and values.

Survey responses are still welcome. If you haven’t yet shared your voice for the future direction of Georgia Tech, you may do so here by midnight on January 17.

Over the next few months, the goal setting phase will take place. During goal setting, the steering committee and leadership will use all visioning inputs to produce a document that identifies strategic themes. Thought leaders and subject matter experts will then be engaged to define goals, objectives, and metrics. The goal setting phase will end in May and will result in the completed plan.

Unit, program, and initiative leaders will then create plans for how their groups will contribute to the Institute-level strategy, beginning in late May, early June.
