The campus community should plan for road closures and additional traffic throughout the week.

Thousands of high school graduates will turn their tassels inside McCamish Pavilion this week during 11 Atlanta Public School graduation ceremonies while members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) compete for a conference baseball title at Mac Nease Baseball Park at Russ Chandler Stadium. The multi-day events will bring additional traffic to the Georgia Tech campus.

With three ceremonies each day from Tuesday, May 21, to Thursday, May 23, and two ceremonies on Friday, May 24, the campus community should expect increased traffic and road closures around McCamish Pavilion.

The Georgia Tech Police Department will close Fowler Street between Sixth and 10th streets daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes through campus during the road closures. Additional congestion is likely to occur around designated parking decks.

ADA parking will be available for attendees on Fowler Street and at the North Deck (W23) at 939 State St. NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. VIP Parking will be available at McCamish (E65) and on Eighth Street.

All other guest parking for the graduation ceremonies is available at five campus locations:

  • Family Housing (ER66)

  • Dalney Parking Deck - Visitor Area 12 (W22)

  • Klaus Deck (E40)

  • Peters Deck (E52)

  • Tech Square (E81)

The SWAC baseball tournament will take place from Wednesday, May 22, to Sunday, May 26. Due to the overlapping events, traffic will remain congested around the area. Parking for the tournament will be available in the Klaus Parking Deck (E40).
