Georgia Tech has begun the search for the dean of the new College of Lifetime Learning. The search committee, chaired by Anuj Mehrotra, Dean and Stephen P. Zelnak Jr. Chair in the Scheller College of Business, includes a mix of faculty, staff, and students from across the College of Lifetime Learning, Georgia Tech, as well as University System of Georgia representatives.

“The launch of a new College is an exciting and formidable task,” said Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Steve McLaughlin. “We are looking for a dean who can embrace the vision and possibilities that this new College holds for Georgia Tech, while also laying the groundwork for a successful future. I am confident that our search committee will find the right person for this inaugural role, and that their work will be bolstered by the passionate faculty and staff of the new College.”

Both external candidates and current members of the Georgia Tech community are invited to apply. The dean will report directly to the provost and will play a pivotal role in shaping the College of Lifetime Learning’s strategic vision.

To support the effort, Georgia Tech has retained the executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles. Representatives from Heidrick & Struggles will meet with faculty and staff from the current College of Lifetime Learning units to gather input on the preferred qualifications and attributes of the next dean.

A virtual town hall will provide an opportunity for the broader Georgia Tech community to contribute to the conversation. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to participate:

  • Thursday, Dec., 5, 2024, 3 p.m., Virtual – Register

Candidate recommendations and questions (including from those unable to attend the town hall) are encouraged and may be directed to the Heidrick & Struggles team at GTLifetimeLearningDean@heidrick.com.
