As Valentine’s Day approaches, Georgia Tech student organizations are sharing the love through on- and off-campus activities. Check out some of the events and celebrate the holiday.
SASE x KUSA Valentine’s Day Celebration
When: Wednesday, Feb. 12, 5 – 6:30 p.m.
Where: Cypress Theater, John Lewis Student Center
Join the Society for Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) for their collaboration with the Korean Undergraduate Student Association (KUSA) to celebrate Valentine’s Day. They will facilitate several activities, including a spicy Buldak challenge, a Pepero tower challenge, and origami heart and keychain lessons.
Valentine’s Wonderland
When: Wednesday, Feb. 12, 5:30 – 8 p.m.
Where: Third Floor, John Lewis Student Center
Prepare for an evening of fun and celebration at Valentine’s Wonderland, presented by the First-Year Experience. Enjoy hot chocolate, giant chess, board games, and crafts.
GT Women’s Orgs Galentine's
When: Wednesday, Feb. 12, 6 – 8 p.m.
Where: Rooms 1116 – 1118, Marcus Nanotechnology Building
Join the Society of Women Engineers, Women in ECE, Women at the College of Computing, the Women's Recruitment Team, and the Women's Network for their Galentine’s Day Social. Stop by to make crafts and eat Valentine’s-themed food.
Card Making With Friends of Hospice Care at GT
When: Thursday, Feb. 13, 5 – 6 p.m.
Where: Room 148, J.S. Coon Building
Join the Psychology Association and Friends of Hospice Care at GT to make cards. They will gift the cards for Valentine’s Day to people in hospice care.
CSA Valentine’s Day Bouquet Making
When: Thursday, Feb. 13, 6:30 – 8 p.m.
Where: Cypress Theater, John Lewis Student Center
Take part in a heartfelt celebration of love and culture with the Chinese Student Association. Learn about the history and traditions of Chinese Valentine’s Day, the Qixi Festival. Afterward, make a bouquet to give to someone else or keep for yourself.
Speed Love and Connections
When: Friday, Feb. 14, 6 – 9 p.m.
Where: Room 215, Instructional Center
Come to Seek Discomfort’s speed dating event to make new friends — and maybe something else! Meet new people, answer fun questions, and participate in exciting activities.
Hooks and Needles: Valentine’s Day Workshop
When: Saturday, Feb. 15, 12 – 2:45 p.m.
Where: Buckhead Boardroom, Exhibition Hall
Stop by Hooks and Needles’ workshop to learn how to crochet Valentine’s Day-themed items. This lesson welcomes crocheters of all skill levels, with club leaders guiding attendees through patterns of varying difficulty. The workshop is member-exclusive, so sign up through the Google Form on their Discord.
Swing Dance Association Sweetheart Swing Dance
When: Saturday, Feb. 15, 7 – 10 p.m.
Where: First Floor Atrium, Klaus Advanced Computing Building
Join the Swing Dance Association to celebrate the club’s Sweetheart Social Swing Dance. Everyone is welcome. No partner is required, and there is a beginner’s lesson before the dance at 7 p.m. Admission is free for members, $5 for students, and $10 for anyone else.
Valentine’s Open Skate
When: Sunday, Feb. 16, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Where: The Cooler
Come to the Figure Skating Club’s Valentine’s Day-themed open skate at The Cooler skate center in Alpharetta. Bring your friends and wear Valentine’s colors.
