Tricia Chastain has been selected as Georgia Tech’s next executive vice president for Administration and Finance and chief business officer. Chastain brings more than 23 years of leadership experience in higher education and government across Georgia and will begin in her new role on May 19.

Since September 2023, Chastain has served as the chief business officer at Kennesaw State University, where she managed day-to-day operations and fiduciary responsibilities. She initially joined Kennesaw State in 2019 as chief administrative officer, guiding the university through a period of growth and strategic transformation.

Before her tenure at KSU, Chastain was executive vice chancellor of Administration for the University System of Georgia and president of the Georgia Student Finance Commission. She also previously served as assistant vice president for Government Relations at the University of Georgia and state director for U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson.

“We are excited to welcome Tricia to Georgia Tech,” said President Ángel Cabrera. “Her depth of experience, proven leadership, and commitment to public higher education will be instrumental as we continue to advance our mission and support the Institute’s strategic priorities.”

Chastain holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Georgia and an MBA from Kennesaw State’s Coles College of Business.

“I am truly honored to join Georgia Tech and lead its division of Administration and Finance,” she said. “I look forward to partnering across campus to advance the Institute's ambitious strategic plan and achieve operational excellence.”
