Georgia Tech has Historic Fundraising Year

Students celebrate at Commencement
Georgia Tech has achieved the most successful fundraising year in its history, raising nearly $300 million in philanthropic support in Fiscal Year 2025. This achievement marks a significant milestone for Georgia Tech. More than 25,000 donors contributed to this year’s success — including alumni, foundations, corporations, and first-time supporters.
“Georgia Tech’s brand has never been stronger. People close to campus and those across the nation are seeing Georgia Tech as a problem-solver in a changing world. We simply can’t thank our friends, alumni, volunteers, and staff enough for the great work that’s being done on so many levels,” said Jim Hall, vice president for Development.
This monumental success marks a 20% increase over the Institute’s previous record-setting year and fuels momentum for Transforming Tomorrow: The Campaign for Georgia Tech, the most ambitious philanthropic effort in the Institute’s history, which now totals $1.592 billion and counting. Fiscal Year 2025 places Georgia Tech on pace to achieve its $2 billion campaign goal by the end of 2027. Official fiscal year totals will be finalized in September.
Investing in Students, Innovation, and Impact
“There’s no better investment than Georgia Tech,” said Ángel Cabrera, president of Georgia Tech. “When you support Georgia Tech, you’re investing in an institution that provides students with the best value in higher education and is a pillar of our state’s and our nation’s growth. Lives shaped by Georgia Tech create lasting influence, and we are immensely grateful to our donors and supporters for helping us amplify our impact.”
This record-breaking year reflects major investments in strategic priorities, including:
- Invest in the Best Scholarship Matching Challenge – Donors unlocked $100 million in new endowed scholarship support for low- and limited-income students, thanks to a dollar-for-dollar match from the Georgia Tech Foundation. The challenge has created 82 new scholarships and expanded the reach of 38 existing funds, doubling donor impact and expanding opportunities across campus.
- Launch of the Georgia Tech Stamps Fellows Program – In partnership with the Stamps Scholars Program, these premier graduate fellowships were made possible by benefactor E. Roe Stamps IV, IE 1967, M.S. IE 1972, HON Ph.D. 2014. The program provides unmatched support for top graduate students with exceptional academic and leadership potential.
- Transformational Investment in Cell Biomanufacturing – A $20 million award from the Marcus Foundation is propelling Georgia Tech to the forefront of next-generation cell therapy, positioning the Institute as a national leader in lifesaving medical innovation.
- $34 Million Raised for Pediatric Technology Center – The successful matching challenge for the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Pediatric Technology Center at Georgia Tech is advancing AI-driven, patient-centered innovation and care for children.
- Full Steam Ahead Surpasses $300 Million Milestone – The athletics initiative has already raised $342 million toward a $500 million expanded goal, accelerating plans to transform athletic facilities, elevate the gameday experience, and provide resources needed to compete at the highest level.
- $8.3 Million Given to the 78th Roll Call – Alumni and friends gave at historic levels to this year’s Roll Call, setting a new benchmark for annual unrestricted support.

The campaign is visibly shaping Georgia Tech’s skyline and student experience. Recent milestones include:

- The naming of the Walter G. Ehmer Theater in the John Lewis Student Center.
- The dedication of the Lt. Tyler Brown Fitness Facility for ROTC students.

Join Us in Transforming Tomorrow
The final two-and-a-half years of the campaign will focus on expanding student opportunities, accelerating medical and scientific discovery, and supporting faculty and research that drive global progress.
All Georgia Tech alumni and friends are invited to be a part of the campaign to help propel the Institute’s impact as one of the nation’s top public universities.
“This campaign isn’t just about numbers — it’s about people,” said Campaign Co-chair Kelly Barrett, IMGT 1986. “Every gift demonstrates confidence in Georgia Tech and its role in improving the lives of our students, alumni, community, and beyond.”
