The 2025 ACC ALN cohort came together at Georgia Tech for an inspiring October session, showcasing collaboration, innovation, and leadership in action.

Georgia Tech invites nominations until Dec. 1 for current academic leaders to participate in the 2026 cohort of the Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Leaders Network (ACC ALN). This annual leadership development program is designed to foster collaboration and innovation among academic leaders across ACC universities.

The program welcomes nominations from individuals who have at least one to two years of experience in a current leadership role, such as department chair or head, assistant or associate dean, or assistant or associate provost, and have received foundational leadership training. Georgia Tech may nominate up to five faculty representatives for this opportunity.

Beginning Feb. 6 with a virtual kickoff, participants will engage in a yearlong collaborative project with peers from other ACC schools and attend three in-person sessions hosted at different participating university campuses:

  • Southern Methodist University in March
  • The University of Notre Dame in June
  • The University of Pittsburgh in October

Meals, travel, and lodging are provided throughout the program.

Faculty selected for the program will have the opportunity to grow in leadership effectiveness alongside academic leaders from other institutions, build relationships and networks that leverage interinstitutional contacts, gain practical insight into emerging trends across the broader landscape of higher education, and broaden their awareness of leadership challenges across disciplines and organizational structures.

“The ACC Academic Leaders Network provides an unparalleled opportunity for our leaders to expand their leadership skills while building collaborative relationships across institutions,” said Michelle Rinehart, vice provost for Faculty. “Georgia Tech’s academic leaders gain access to fresh perspectives and proven strategies that inspire innovation, strengthen our academic community, and position us for long-term success.”

Applications are due to the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty by Dec. 1. Submission instructions are included on the application form, and the program informational flyer provides additional details. Visit the Georgia Tech ACC ALN webpage for details.
