Enjoy Labor Day Weekend Around Atlanta
The semester may have only just started, but it’s time for a day off. Georgia Tech’s campus will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day.
If you’ll be in town, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the long weekend.
The Yellow Jackets will host three different opponents at O’Keefe Gymnasium throughout the weekend.
Volleyball vs. Southern Indiana: Friday, Sept. 4, 4 p.m.
Volleyball vs. Campbell: Saturday, Sept. 5, 4 p.m.
Volleyball vs. Xavier: Sunday, Sept. 6, 1 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 5
Atlanta will host the Aflac Kickoff Game, featuring Auburn vs. Baylor, on Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Football fans of all teams can enjoy free activities around the venue throughout the weekend.

The annual convention celebrates pop culture, science fiction, fantasy, gaming, comics, and more. Enjoy the free parade on Peachtree Street starting at 10 a.m.
Sept. 5 – 6
This free, all-ages festival will celebrate hip hop in the heart of the city at Historic Fourth Ward Park.

If you happen to have a Bank of America card, this weekend coincides with their monthly promotion to enjoy free admission to museums. The High Museum of Art, Center for Civil and Human Rights, and Atlanta History Center (Sunday only) all participate.
Monday, Sept. 7
At 9:30 p.m., the Lasershow will be projected on the side of Stone Mountain — five times the size of an IMAX screen, and taller than the Statue of Liberty. The show is free, but venue parking is $10.
