It’s finally fall, and, for some, it’s finally fall break. Classes will not meet Oct. 5 – 6. For those staying in town, the city offers many attractions and events.   

When: Friday, Oct. 2, 6:30 p.m. (vs. Duke) and Sunday, Oct. 4, 1:30 p.m. (vs. UNC) 

Where: O’Keefe Gymnasium  

Support the Yellow Jackets as they host two home matches during the break.  

 

When: Oct. 2 – 3 

Where: Downtown Decatur 

The annual celebration of literature will take place at venues around Downtown Decatur again this year. The festival is free but some sessions may request an RSVP. Be sure to check out the session with former Georgia Tech president G. Wayne Clough on Oct. 3 at 11 a.m.

 

When: Saturday, Oct. 3, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Where: Buckhead Village 

The Buckhead Village district will host an open-air European style market filled with food, crafts, and live music. 

    

When: Oct. 3 – 4  

Where: Candler Park, 1500 McLendon Ave. NE  

Stop by Candler Park for one of the most beloved festivals in metro Atlanta, featuring two days of entertainment, food, and rides. Admission to the festival is free.

If you appreciate retro or vintage gaming (or maybe you played on an older system growing up), check out this expo a bit north of the city. Entry is free.

Where: Oakland Cemetery 

This free, family-friendly festival celebrates the season with costume contests, pumpkin decorating, and games. In addition to finding the perfect pumpkin, the Harvest Market features local purveyors of handmade foods and goods.
