Creating Culture Champions: First Class of 87 Staff Leaders Graduate from the Inclusive Leaders Academy

Creating a culture of inclusive excellence requires the proactive, intentional, and focused efforts of leaders. After engaging in up to 24 hours of study and practice through the Inclusive Leaders Academy, 87 staff leaders emerged and were celebrated as “Culture Champions” during the program’s closing ceremony on October 24.

Georgia Tech Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council Formed to Further Address Campus Disparity, Bias, and Inequity

More than 50 representatives from across the campus have been appointed by President Ángel Cabrera to the newly formed Georgia Tech Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council (GTDEIC). The Council will identify issues of campus racial and gender disparity, bias, and inequity to be addressed in order to deliver upon the Institute’s vision of diversity and inclusion. The members represent diverse voices and perspectives from staff, faculty, and students. Their initial meeting will be Nov. 30.

Georgia Tech Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council Gets To Work

Last November, more than 50 Institute faculty, staff, and students gathered for the initial meeting of the Georgia Tech Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council (GTDEIC). The campus representatives were appointed by President Ángel Cabrera, and the group was tasked with monitoring and assessing the Institute’s progress toward becoming a model campus community for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). In the months ahead, it will also submit recommendations to Cabrera and the Institute’s executive leadership team for consideration in developing strategic actions.
